Roof Repair in Coker

Coker sits about 12 miles west of Northport on Highway 82, where the subdivisions stop and the land opens up toward the Sipsey River bottoms. It is still Tuscaloosa County, still 20 minutes from our shop, and a lot of the roofing out there is a different animal from the brick ranches in town.

Roof repair in Coker runs the same as Northport: $250 to $1,500 for most repairs, with metal roof fastener and seam work from $300 and mobile home coatings from $1,200. A small trip charge may apply to addresses well off the highway, and we tell you on the phone.

The roofs out here

Metal is the rule more than the exception in Coker. Exposed-fastener panels on houses, shops, pole barns, and chicken houses, a lot of it 15 to 25 years old now and leaking at the screws. Standing seam on the newer builds along Union Chapel Road and the roads running north toward Fosters and Buhl.

Manufactured homes on private acreage, single and double-wides with metal or light shingle roofs, where a leak has often been running for a while before anyone calls.

Shingled homes on larger lots with big pines and oaks close to the house. Limb damage in a spring storm is the most common emergency call we get from Coker.

Older farmhouses with multiple roof lines, additions, and more valleys and flashing than the original builder ever planned on.

Open ground means wind. A front that lifts a few tabs in a Northport subdivision peels a whole screw line on a barn roof in Coker with nothing to break it. Storm calls from out here are often the biggest repairs of the season.

Chicken houses and long poultry barns are their own kind of metal roof: hundreds of feet of exposed-fastener panel, often older galvanized, with ventilation cut through it everywhere. A leak over the birds is a business problem, not a comfort problem, and we treat it that way. Fastener swaps and seam work on a poultry house are quoted by the foot after a walk-through.

What we do in Coker

Metal roof repair: screw replacement with new long-life washers, lap resealing, panel replacement, and full elastomeric coatings for roofs leaking in too many places to chase one at a time.

Mobile home roof repair: seam sealing, rust patching, full coatings, and roof-overs when the original metal is gone.

Storm damage and emergency tarping after wind or a tree strike, with photos and a written scope for your insurance.

Shingle and flashing repair, leak tracing, and written inspections.

Barn and shop roofs are welcome. A leaking pole barn over hay or equipment is a real problem, and a fastener swap and lap reseal on a 40-by-60 barn is usually a one-day job.

Written inspections for land and farm sales out here are $175, credited toward any repair within 30 days, and cover the house, the shop, and the barn in one visit if you ask.

Nearby

From Coker we also run to Fosters, Buhl, Elrod, and Ralph along the west side of the county, and back toward Northport along 82. If you are out past Coker toward the Pickens County line, call anyway. We will tell you if we can get there.

Coker is also the jumping-off point for the west side of Lake Tuscaloosa and the farms along the Sipsey River. A long gravel driveway does not scare us off. Just mention it so we bring the right trailer and tires.
